One day Paola and I were sitting in a greasy diner, eating french fries, drinking bad coffee, and critiquing each other's writing. Paola was concentrating on an annoying sentence of mine, when I suggested that we make a zine together.
We took the first letters of our names and came up with Petrified Press. Petrified Press published half a dozen little art books and zines that were hand-painted and stapled collaborations between Paola and I. At a certain point, we shifted our publishing attention to little ol' Kiss Machine.
Well, six years have passed, and Paola's pretty well moved on to greener pastures. But I still get excited thinking about layout and graphics. Now we're not only publishing two regular Kiss Machine issues per year, but also two Kiss Machine Presents... publications. Fun!
